Nordic Masterclass in Epilepsy 2026

Nordic Masterclass in Epilepsy is an annual training program aiming at fostering the next generation of epilepsy experts in the Nordic countries through interactive learning sessions and networking. The program is intended for both neurologists and neuropediatricians interested in specializing in epilepsy. After three years the candidates will have completed a full program consisting of three courses focusing on 1) diagnostic challenges, 2) Treatment of complex epilepsies, and 3) Seizures and epilepsy in the acute medical setting. The intention is that the same participants complete a full three-session course.
The third meeting to be held in Oslo October 8-9, 2026 will focus on seizures and epilepsy in the acute medical setting. It will include sessions on Epileptogenesis, Prognostication, Treatment of patients with special challenges and needs in an acute setting, and Treatment of complex status epilepticus beyond guidelines, Functional/dissociative seizures in the emergency room, and Palliative care. There will also be ample time for case discussions.
The meeting rotates between the Nordic countries and is organised by an expert committee including one senior and one junior doctor from each country.
