Focus of this event, organized in a hybrid format, is Indena’s celebration of its Centennial: one hundred years of botanical excellence since 1921.

Theme of the Congress is the Botanical Science applied to Human Health ranging from the history of taxanes to the scientific approach to dietary supplements & botanicals quality, that have characterized Indena’s history.

We are proud to celebrate a century of business together with many leading inspiring scientists and academics and we aim to honor this event by inviting the persons who accompanied Indena through the most significant chapters of its history, formed by nature, science and people.

The event will take place on 8th November at 5,00 pm CET in live streaming from the historical, prestigious venue “Istituto dei Ciechi” in via Vivaio 7, Milan.

His main current research interests are the extraction and purification of pharmaceutical intermediates and active ingredients as well as food supplement ingredients from botanical sources and the development of industrial processes for the synthesis of pharmaceutical products.
He is co-founder of ISPROCHEM, an international school of process chemistry. He is also co-founder of the Master School in Process Development Applied to Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients of the University of Milan.

Giovanni Appendino is Full Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Eastern Piedmont, Novara, Italy.
He is author of over 400 peer-reviewed articles and his h-index is 58 (WOS).
His research activity takes inspiration from natural products to address problems in various realms of organic chemistry (phytochemistry, reaction mechanisms, new synthetic methods), interfacing them with biomedical research.
He is editor-in-chief of the journal Fitoterapia, and his research has been recognized by the Phytochemical Society of Europe (Rhone-Poulenc Rorer Award in 1991, Brucker Prize in 2014) and by the Società Chimica Italiana (Quilico Medal in 2009 ,Piria medal in 2021).

Dr. Marcel Rozencweig is currently Chief Medical Officer at NeoTX and a co-founder of the company.
Dr. Rozencweig graduated from the Universite Libre de Bruxelles and trained in medical oncology at the Jules Bordet Cancer Institute in Brussels (Belgium).
He has devoted most of his career to the development of new anticancer agents, both in academia and in the industry.
He was a founding member of the Early Clinical Trials Group of the EORTC (First secretary and then president).
As Visiting Scientist at the Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program NCI (1975-1978), he initiated the series of the NCI-EORTC Symposia on New Drugs in Cancer Therapy (1978-1981).
In 1983, he joined the Bristol-Myers company (BMS) as head of clinical oncology in R&D.
With his team, he pioneered the registrational approaches that led to the accelerated approval procedure for life threatening diseases (e.g, didanosine) and brought the carboplatin and paclitaxel blockbusters to the market.
After close to 20 years at BMS, he switched to the biotechnology sector in various leadership positions, with a recent focus on immuno-oncology.
He was President of Innate Pharma Inc from 2014 to 2017.
He served as Adjunct Associate Professor of Medicine at NYU, New York, for more than 25 years.

Founder of Aadi, he has served as Aadi’s President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Aadi’s board of directors since Aadi’s founding in October 2011.
He is an inventor of the nab® technology, Abraxane® and FyarroTM.
From October 2010 to October 2016, Dr. Desai served as Vice President, Strategic Platforms at Celgene Corporation (now Bristol Myers Squibb), a global biopharmaceutical company.
Prior to Celgene, Dr. Desai served as Senior Vice President, Global Research and Development at Abraxis BioScience, Inc., a biotechnology company, from November 2008 until Abraxis BioScience was acquired by Celgene Corporation in October 2010 and as Vice President, Research & Development at Abraxis BioScience from March 1999 to October 2008.
Dr. Desai has also previously served in positions of increasing seniority at American BioScience, Inc. and its predecessor companies.
He has over 25 years of experience in novel therapeutic delivery systems with numerous issued patents, peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and presentations at scientific meetings.
He participated in FDA and EU Nanotechnology initiatives and was a member of the Steering Committee for the National Cancer Institute (NCI) Alliance for Nanotechnology in Cancer. Dr. Desai holds a M.S and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin, and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University Institute of Chemical Technology in Mumbai, India
