Welcome to Gothenburg 29 June – 1 July

Universities today operate in a time of acceleration. Artificial intelligence is reshaping knowledge production. Global challenges demand rapid solutions. Expectations grow. At the same time, academic communities face increasing pressure — on leadership, on researchers, on students.

During EUTOPIA Week in Gothenburg, we will explore a central question:

How can universities remain innovative, ambitious and globally engaged — while sustaining the wellbeing of the people who make them possible?

In Sweden, we have a word: lagom.
Not too much. Not too little.
Balance to build excellence that lasts.

The 2026 Summer EUTOPIA Week at University of Gothenburg consists of four main tracks:

  • The Main conference track includes the alliance Boards, Councils and Groups that regularly meet at EUTOPIA weeks once or twice per year.
  • Young Leaders Academy (YLA) Symposium
  • Research Days
  • College Education Forum

Tracks 1 and 2 are co-funded by the European Union, while 3 & 4 are funded by the University of Gothenburg.
