With a background in investment banking and telecommunications, Inma transitioned her career towards technology entrepreneurship, becoming an innovator in the field. She gained international recognition for her work with teams at Cambridge University and Trinity College Dublin, where they pioneered the first real-time AI recommendation system for the mobile Internet.
Throughout the 2000s, her journey in technology innovation continued, leading ventures into mobile music and video streaming, connected cars, and smart living.
Inma's exceptional expertise has made her one of the foremost experts in predicting digital disruptions and understanding the transformative power of AI and other emerging technologies. Her unique perspective, based on years of hands-on experience, has made her a sought-after advisor for leaders in both business and government.
Currently, Inma Martinez serves as the Chair of the Multi-stakeholder Expert Group and Co-Chair of the Steering Committee at the GPAI, the G7/OECD global agency for AI development and cooperation. In this role, she advises governments and organizations on AI innovation and commercialization. Inma also leads the AI in Agriculture project, highlighting her dedication to utilizing AI for societal benefit.
In the United Kingdom, she contributed her expertise to the Trade & Investment Agency and the Innovation Fund of the Department of Sport, Media, and Culture. Furthermore, she played a pivotal role in the All Party Parliamentary Group on AI, and presently, she is a member of the A.I. Council Advisory Board at the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation, Government of Spain.

Since 2001, Inma has provided expert testimonies and sector strategies on Big Data and AI at the European Commission, shaping numerous policies that define the digital future of the single market. Her insights also found a place at the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO), where she highlighted the implications of the Fourth Industrial Revolution for developing countries.
Inma’s collaborative spirit is evident in her work with UNESCO, where she contributed to initiatives making AI more inclusive of intercultural input, and her involvement with the European Space Agency’s Human and Robotic Exploration and the Ariane Cities programs.
