Welcome to the 14th Nordic Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect in Oslo!
I am delighted to invite researchers, practitioners, policymakers and other professionals to join us for NFBO's 14th conference. Bringing together people from different disciplines and sectors has always been at the heart of the NFBO conferences, and I believe this is more important than ever.
Our shared goal is to create safer childhoods across the Nordic countries, and this year’s conference focuses on just that. Children exposed to violence, neglect and other adverse experiences need services that identify concerns early, work together effectively, and provide the right support at the right time. Meeting these challenges requires both strong research and strong practice, and opportunities to learn from one another. We are also pleased to welcome a number of outstanding keynote speakers whose expertise and insights will help enrich the conference discussions.
During my years as Chair of NFBO, one of the things I have enjoyed most has been seeing colleagues from across the Nordics, and beyond, come together. Every conference is a reminder of the knowledge, experience and commitment that exists within this community, and of how much we gain from sharing it.
I look forward to welcoming you to Oslo and to a conference full of interesting discussions and opportunities to learn from one another.
