10:30-11:00 Farm Business Development Programme | by Mikaela Jarstedt

Farm Business Development Programme is a web-based business development tool for small-scale beef and sheep farms, designed to strengthen farmers’ leadership, management, and entrepreneurial skills. Developed by farmers, researchers, and advisors, it helps analyse and improve farm performance, profitability, and sustainability. A pilot project involving lamb, beef, and suckler cow producers is currently testing the concept during 2025–2027. Following evaluation and refinement, the programme will be made publicly available.

Friday 23rd October

09:00  Bus leaves the Hotel

09:30-11:15  Visit the farm Torkilsheygsgarður and their wool textile workshop Navia. Faroese appetisers and shop

12:00-14:00  Visit the farm Varmakeldugarður. The farmers give a talk about their farm. Soup and coffee/tea and cakes

14:45-15:30  Visit the farm Dúvugarðar. The farmers give a talk about their farm. See the Faroese horse, and if we are lucky the farmer is butchering lambs, and we might get a chance to experience home slaughtering

16:20  Back at the hotel

Saturday 24th October

13:00  Bus leaves the Hotel

13:30-16:00  Sheep show at the vicinity of Sundalagið

16:00-17:00  Soup, sandwich and beverages

17:00-18:00  Prizes for the winning sheep are given

18:00-           Socialising with the locals

19:00  Bus takes us back to the hotel. Those who want to stay longer at the event, will have to hire their own transport
