The 12th Hershey Conference on Developmental Brain Injury at Marstrands Havshotell will be postponed Due to Continuing Spread of COVID-19 and Growing Concerns over the Health and Well-Being of Participants.

After careful consideration, the organizing committee has made the difficult decision to postpone the upcoming 12th Hershey Conference scheduled for June 10-13, 2020 in Marstrand, Sweden.

We deeply regret any inconvenience caused by cancellation of the conference and we share your disappointment, but we believe this is the most responsible course of action to protect the health and well-being of attendees and the communities they serve, presenters and  staff, and all those engaged in the conference. 

We have continuously monitored the latest information from the Swedish Health Authority (Hälsovårdsmyndigheten), ECDC and WHO on the spread of the COVID-19. In addition to restrictions on international and domestic travel, we have become aware over the last few days of a rapidly increasing number of travel bans being imposed on employees by Universities, healthcare institutions and companies across the globe. The spread of COVID-19 in western Sweden is still rather limited (113 cases) but increasing and it is at present difficult to predict the situation in the next-coming weeks and months.

We are actively working with the Marstrands Havshotell to reschedule the conference until May 2021, the exact date to be determined within the next few weeks. The registration fees will be returned in full to all participants. Trainees should not have to resubmit their letters- we can just keep them on file and everyone will have the opportunity to resubmit updated abstracts.

All particpants will receive emails from the organizing committee with further information within the next 10-14 days.
