Jesper Andreasen’s research in translational psychopharmacology uses rodent behavioural models to study the neurobiological mechanisms underlying psychiatric symptoms, focusing on monoaminergic regulation of executive function and emotion in ADHD, affective disorders, and anxiety. Current projects examine the therapeutic mechanisms of ADHD medications, classic serotonergic psychedelics, and MDMA. In addition to research, he engages in public outreach to clinicians, policymakers, and the general public on topics including ADHD and its treatment, addiction, and the psychopharmacology of psychedelics and MDMA-assisted therapy.
