Photo submissions for free student participation

The peer review process has been completed. LearnPCC sponsors five students to participate in this event.

To support student participation, we have reserved seven fully funded places for undergraduate students from a range of healthcare programs, allowing you to participate in the entire conference free of charge. Two winning students from outside of Sweden will get funded with two days conference fee, cheapest flight round trip, and one night on hotel. Five winning students will get free access to the conference (including lunches and dinner) but no other funding.

The winning images will be displayed at the conference.

Who can apply?

If you are currently enrolled in a healthcare program at the university level (and still are by December 2024), you are more than welcome to apply! Healthcare programs include education for future professionals such as nurses, physiotherapists / physical therapists, audiologists, pharmacists, speech therapists, occupational therapists, biomedical analysts, dietitians, , physicians, psychologists, radiologists, dental hygienists, and dentists.

How to apply:

• Take a photograph or make your own picture of what person-centred care means to you as a healthcare student. This is where you will need to be creative!  
  Required format of the photo: png or jpg (max 5 MB)
• Decide a title for your work.
• Write 100-200 words of text where you describe what person-centred care means to you.

The images will be judged based on the following criteria:  

1. Creativity  
2. Originality  
3. Accompanying text 

Your work will be handled with anonymity in the peer review process.

Technical requirements:

• Your image must be of printable quality, 200 DPI or above.
• A poorly focused image or copyright infringement will lead to rejection.
• Lack of accompanying text or submitted texts over 200 words will lead to rejection.
• Patient confidentiality and anonymity must be adhered to in line with professional standards.

Peer-review process 
All photograph submissions, title and accompanying explanation will be reviewed and judged by the student unions at Gothenburg University (Sweden), University of Hull (England), and UMIT TIROL – Private University (Austria).

Winners will be announced in July and November 2024. Make sure to clear your schedule so you can participate in the conference in December! You are responsible for bringing your printed image to the conference for display.

Important Dates:

• 01 April: Photograph submission opens. 
• 15 June: Deadline for photograph submission. 
•  01 July: Winners are announced
• 31 October: Final deadline for photograph submission.
• 20 November: The five additional winners are announced.
• 12-13 December: LearnPCC conference takes place!

Included for all winning students:

• Eligibility for all sessions and activities at the LearnPCC scientific conference in Gothenburg, Sweden 12-13 December 2024
• Lunch and refreshments both days
• Festive dinner  
• Abstract book and proceedings (digital)

For two winners from outside of Sweden is also included:

• Cheapest flight round trip
• One night  hotel accommodation

Note: 
Participants travelling from abroad are responsible for arranging visas and other necessary travel documents.
