Leena Kämppi
Dr. Kämppi (MD, PhD, specialist in neurology) works as an adult epileptologist at Epilepsia Helsinki in Helsinki University Hospital and as an senior lecturer (neurology) at the University of Helsinki.

Dr. Kämppi has her own research group focusing on status epilepticus (SE), early phases of the treatment and diagnostics, refractory cases and outcome. Her group has multidisciplinary collaborators across epileptology, neuroimmunology, neurointensive care, clinical neurophysiology and artificial intelligence. Dr. Kämppi is a Board member of Finnish Epilepsy Association and member of Finnish National co-ordination group for rare and complex epilepsies, ILAE Mortality prevention and SE mortality Task Forces and EpiCare ERN workgroups. 

Piero Perucca 
Piero Perucca is Professor of Adult Epilepsy and Co-Director of the Epilepsy Research Centre at the Department of Medicine, The University of Melbourne, and Director of the Bladin-Berkovic Comprehensive Epilepsy Program at the Austin Hospital, Melbourne, Australia. He currently serves as the President of the Epilepsy Society of Australia, the Australian health professional and scientific body for epilepsy.

He is an epileptologist-researcher whose interests include the genetics of epilepsy, EEG, epilepsy and pregnancy, and the pharmacological and surgical treatment of epilepsy. He has authored >200 publications in epilepsy and has received >20 awards for his research.  

Erik Taubøll
Professor emeritus, Department of Neurology, Oslo University Hospital and University of Oslo (Prof. of Neurology 2004-2025, emeritus from 2025). Head of ERGO – Epilepsy Research Group in department of Neurology until 2025. Broad experience in both clinical, translational and basic epilepsy research. Special interest in Status Epilepticus, epilepsy and endocrinology, SUDEP/epilepsy and cardiology, and side effects of ASMs.   

Johan Zelano
Johan Zelano is a Professor of Neurology and senior consultant at the University of Gothenburg and Sahlgrenska University Hospital, Sweden. His research focuses on epilepsy with particular emphasis on structural and symptomatic epilepsies, seizure prognosis, and long-term outcomes. His work combines clinical epilepsy research with large-scale population-based studies using national health registers to investigate comorbidity, mortality, and treatment effects in epilepsy. Johan Zelano is actively involved in undergraduate and graduate education and in international epilepsy research collaborations in the ILAE.
