Choroid plexus in metal neurotoxicology

The question of what causes ALS has puzzled neurologists around the world for the past hundred years or so. In this seminar, we will discuss the hypothesis that environmental chemical exposure contributes to the development of ALS, and provide some examples of possible exposure routes. The discussion will be expanded by a presentation of a newly discovered mechanism for regulating toxicity at the choroid plexus.

After the presentations, there will be an opportunity to contribute with your own ALS patients to the metal-related research at the Department of Neuroscience, Karolinska Institutet.
