Abstract submission

You are encouraged to submit a 1-page abstract before November 1, 2026 on any of the following topics:

• Airworthiness considerations
• Advanced materials and innovative structural concepts
• Full-scale fatigue testing of aircraft and aircraft components
• Structural health and structural loads monitoring
• NDI, inspections and maintenance
• Fatigue crack growth and life prediction methods
• Fatigue life enhancement methods and repair solutions
• Environmental effects
• Probabilistic modelling and risk analysis
• Residual stress engineering
• Adhesively bonded repairs/reinforcements
• Digital twins and digital engineering
• AI applications for fatigue and damage tolerance problems

Abstracts should briefly outline the main research issues, research method, results and conclusions as well as their general significance. References might be added.

A Word template is provided for your convenience. This template is already set with the correct page size, fonts, line spacing and margins, as required for ICAF2027 book of abstracts. This will ensure that you are using the correct format.

Please convert your ICAF2027 abstract to a PDF file. Be sure to embed the fonts when creating the PDF.

• DO NOT password protect your file.
• Make sure the filename has only one extension (“.pdf”)

Review

After peer reviewing you will receive the authors notification on January 22, 2027, and the invitation to submit a full paper.

Full Paper submission

All authors of accepted abstracts are kindly requested to upload a full paper for the proceedings of a maximum of 7 – 12 pages (max. 15) to the conference website before 1 April 2027. The proceedings will be published on the ICAF website and can be found via all known search engines such as Google Scholar and Scopus. The mandatory template can be found below

Put both files in a folder, compress the folder into a ZIP file, and then upload the ZIP file.
Only the papers from authors who have registered and have paid their conference fee before April 1, 2027 will be included in the proceedings.
