Hatten
 

(gäller promovendi inom teologiska, juridiska, medicinska och farmaceutiska fakulteterna).

Promovendi inom de teologiska, juridiska, medicinska och farmceutiska fakulteterna måste ha doktorshatt; detta kräver ceremonielet.

Doktorer inom de filosofiska fakulteterna har också rätt att bära hatt, men har ingen användning för sådan i samband med promotionshögtidligheterna. Enligt tradition bärs då endast lagerkrans.

Hatten som bekostas av vederbörande doktor själv kan beställas hos Bergmans konfektion AB. Beställning måste ske senast den 15 december hos Bergmans. Låt firman se till att hatten lämnas in i Universitetshuset torsdagen den 29 januari.

Om du skaffar hatt på annat sätt, måste du själv se till att hatten lämnas in i Universitetshuset under ”Kransbindningen och generalrepetitionen” torsdagen den 29 januari.

Den som drar sig för att anskaffa en egen hatt kan med fördel låna sådan.

Observera att hatten måste vara från rätt fakultet och att promotionskontoret inte har möjlighet att förmedla hattar.

The Hat
 

(for doctoral graduates in the Faculties of Theology, Law, Medicine and Pharmacy).

Doctoral graduates in the Faculties of Theology, Law, Medicine and Pharmacy must have a doctoral hat; this is required by the ceremonial.

Doctors in the philosophical faculties also have a right to wear a hat, but have no use for a hat in connection with the doctoral degree conferment ceremonies. Tradition decrees that they only wear a laurel wreath in this connection.

The hat, which is paid for by the doctor personally, can be ordered from Bergmans konfektion AB. You will need to place your order at Bergmans no later than 15 december. Ask the firm to ensure that the hat is delivered to the University Main Building on Thursday 29 January.

If you acquire a hat by some other means, you should personally ensure that the hat is delivered to the University Main Building during the wreath-binding and rehearsal on Thursday 29 January.

If you feel hesitant about buying a hat of your own, borrowing a hat is a good alternative.

Please note that the hat must be from the right faculty and hat the Conferment Ceremony Office cannot assist in obtaining hats.

Lagerkransen
 

(gäller promovendi inom historisk-filosofiska, språkvetenskapliga, samhällsvetenskapliga, utbildningsvetenskapliga och teknisk-naturvetenskapliga fakulteterna).

Kransen är en gåva från universitetet. Universitetet beställer samtliga kransar och måste därför känna till vederbörandes huvudmått för att kunna beställa kransar i rätt storlekar. Det är därför viktigt att du fyller i huvudmått i webbformuläret i samband med anmälan till banketten som skickas ut i mitten av november.

Du mäter huvudets omkrets i cm där kransen kommer att sitta. Uppgiften uppger du i webbformuläret.

OBS! Alla som promoveras inom de icke-filosofiska fakulteterna (teologiska, juridiska, medicinska och farmaceutiska) och deltar i akten skall anskaffa hatt inför promotionen (se ovan).

En person, som promoveras till filosofie doktor av medicinska fakultetens promotor, får således en filosofie doktorshatt.

The Laurel Wreath
 

(for doctoral graduates in the Faculties of Arts, Languages, Social Sciences, Educational Sciences, and Science and Technology).

The laurel wreath is a gift from the University. The University orders all wreaths and therefore needs to know each individual’s head measurements to be able to  order wreaths of the correct size. Consequently, it is important to enter your head measurements in the online form.

Measure the distance round your head in cm at the point where the wreath will rest. State this measurement in the online form in connection with the banquet registration in mid-November.

Please note: All those who are graduating from the Faculties of Theology, Law, Medicine and Pharmacy and attending the ceremony must acquire a hat for the Conferment Ceremony (see above).

A person having a degree of Doctor of Philosophy conferred on them by the degree conferrer of the Faculty of Medicine thus receives a doctoral hat.

Ringen
 

Har numera ingen särskild plats i ceremonin för doktorer efter avlagda prov.

Varje doktor bestämmer själv om han/hon vill skaffa och bära doktorsring.

The Ring
 

The ring now has no special place in the ceremony for doctors graduating after defending a thesis.

Each doctoral graduate decides personally whether or not to acquire and wear a doctoral ring.

Diplomet
 

Diplomet (gäller alla promovendi). Tillverkning etc. sköts helt av universitetet. 

The Diploma
 

The diploma (for all doctoral graduates). Production etc. is taken care of entirely by the University.
