Draft Program

The first morning of the conference features two high-level plenary sessions, one focussed on national REDD+ implementation, and one on how the international community can provide support through partnerships and alliances in the post-Paris context.  Two rounds of three parallel sessions follow in the afternoon.  The first round focuses on challenges of REDD+ implementation at the national level with cases from selected countries, while the second round features panel discussions on financing options, countries in transition, and indigenous peoples’ rights.

The second day begins with two additional rounds of three parallel sessions.  The first round focuses on challenges of REDD+ implementation at the sub-national level with cases from selected jurisdictions.  The second round explores the experiences with implementation of place-based approaches, “no-deforestation” supply chain commitments, and new tools for forest monitoring and enforcement.

The program also features two rounds of voting to surface the views of conference participants (before and after conference discussions) on key REDD+ challenges and opportunities.  A structured networking session in the middle of the second day is followed by a final high level plenary session and closing remarks.
