Offering modern comfort in historic surroundings, Spitsbergen Hotel Funken offers a unique Svalbard experience. It provides the best view of Longyearbyen as well as the surrounding mountains and glaciers. Built in 1947, the hotel has been expanded and renovated over the years to confer a touch of luxury. Its atmosphere is inspired by the white-collar staff who lived there when Longyearbyen was primarily a coal-mining town. The hotel also accommodates one of Longyearbyen’s best restaurants, Funktionærmessen, and its famous champagne cellar. This served in the old days as the store for alcohol sales to the miners.
Accommodation, including breakfast, per person per night in double room: NOK 1 030 (NOK 2 060 per double room per night).

Please note: Spitsbergen hotel will become Funken Lodge in February. https://www.visitnorway.com/listings/funken-lodge/175893/
Rated as the northernmost full service hotel, this offers you accommodation in the heart of Longyearbyen. Enjoy the view of the majestic Hiortfjellet mountain while being served exciting Arctic dishes with excellent wines in the restaurant found in the same building. While the hotel was established in 1995, the section housing its rooms was originally constructed and used as a sponsor hotel for the American team during the 1994 Winter Olympics at Lillehammer in Norway.
